Chromium carbide (Cr3C2) powder CAS No 12012-35-0
Chromium carbide powder used as an additive to cemented carbide due to its wear resistance and high-temperature resistance properties.
◆Application Chromium carbide, a type of high melting point inorganic material with a melting point below 1000-1100 degrees, is used in thermal spraying powder materials, particle growth inhibitors for WC/Co cemented carbide sintering, and corrosion-resistant components. It exhibits excellent wear resistance and oxidation resistance. By mixing Cr3C2 as a radical of NiCr at high temperatures to produce NiCr-Cr3C2 powder, it can be transformed into a thermal spray material with complete wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Adding Cr3C2 to hard metals not only allows for the refinement of WC particles but also improves the tensile strength and hardness of the alloy, significantly enhancing its corrosion resistance. ◆Chemical Properties Molar Mass: 180.009 g/mol Appearance: Dark gray powder Density: 6.68 g/cm³ Melting Point: 1,895 °C Boiling Point: 3,800 °C Solubility in Water: Reactive Crystal Structure: Orthorhombic
